Kicking poverty out of northern Uganda
Seeds for Development supports very
poor farming communities in northern Uganda.
They tell us what they need, we help them get it.
We support seven communities, helping them move towards a happier and more hopeful life where they eat regular meals, send their children to school, build new and safer homes and set up businesses.
We focus on farming, education and enablement, to help people rebuild their lives, and develop resilient, self-sustainable communities, after the 20 year war between the rebel Lord's Resistance Army and Ugandan army.
Covid, Climate Change and Conflict in the world have had a massive impact on the people we support, driving them into deeper poverty and setting back any progress they had made. Every year there is a hungry season and for those months we focus on their food security and emergency payments towards medical care.
